ELKO, NV – [October 29, 2025] – Elko Federal Credit Union (EFCU) recently concluded its inaugural EFCU Week, focusing on local engagement, community service, and support for neighboring businesses throughout the area.
As a not-for-profit cooperative dedicated to ensuring that local dollars remain within the field of membership, EFCU dedicated the week to active community participation rather than internal promotions.
The week’s activities centered on supporting local organizations and businesses. EFCU provided donuts for the staff at five local elementary schools, a small gesture of encouragement for the educators. Also, EFCU supported two local establishments, Machi’s Saloon and Grill and Tacos Las Brisas, by purchasing lunch for patrons as a way to show appreciation while driving business to these popular community spots.
Volunteerism was also a key part of EFCU’s efforts. Staff members volunteered their time at the Elko Senior Citizen Center, where they focused on providing essential service in fraud prevention education to help protect vulnerable community members. This project underscored the commitment to financial literacy and security across all demographics in the area.
EFCU looks forward to continuing to strengthen these local bonds throughout the coming year. Please stay tuned for more details regarding next year’s EFCU Week, which is currently planned for October 2026.
